In English, the vast majority of our words (especially “big” words) derive from Greek or Latin. I like to think of these roots as master keys: just a few roots can unlock hundreds of words!
In this series, I’m going to teach you some of the most common Greek and Latin roots, which you can then use to unlock hundreds of potential SAT words.
Roots – Ven, Vid, Vic (Come, See, Conquer)
Roots – Mono & Poly (One and Many)
Root – Duc (Lead)
Root – Mon (Warning & Money)
Root – Potens (Powerful/Able To)
Roots – Chron & Temp (Time)
Roots – Ben & Mal (Good and Bad)
I hope you enjoyed this video series! Since I’m a completist, I couldn’t resist putting together a little printable with even more Greek and Latin roots that might come in handy!
Until next time!
